NEW CLIMATE CHANGE BOOKLET - "COLLECTION OF ARTICLES II"
On 5 June 2009, the Danish National day and the UN World Environment Day, the Embassy of Denmark published its 3rd booklet on climate change.
After the positive response to the booklet “Collection of Articles” from spring 2009, the Embassy decided to publish a new booklet containing a new series of articles on the topic of climate change. We hope that the booklet will contribute to increased awareness among people in general on the issues related to climate change, in particular that we are – all of us – a part of the problem and also – all of us – a part of the solution. We also hope that we will inspire Lithuanian politicians to take additional steps in direction of climate friendly policies, domestically, in the EU and globally, especially at the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen in December 2009.
We are fortunate to announce that the booklet contains articles by among others Lithuanian Minister of Environment Gediminas Kazlauskas, EU Commissioner for Environment Stavros Dimas, Swedish Minister for Environment Andreas Carlgren, Danish Minister for Climate and Energy Connie Hedegaard and Danish Minister for Foreign Affairs Per Stig Møller. The booklet also contains an article by Dr. Jurgis Villemas, head of the Lithuanian Energy Institute.
The booklet is, as the previous booklets, available for download by following the links in the menu to the right. The booklets are in Lithuanian.
Climate Change Poster Exhibitions:
The Embassy of Denmark has produced a series of informative posters on various issues related to climate change. They are on display all over Lithuania all through 2009 and please be informed that small or bigger poster exhibitions can now be borrowed for free. More information about the exhibition in Lithuanian can be found on by following this
